Secrets of the Sky - Pathways

It’s hardly an achievement to have predicted a win in 2015 for Secrets Of The Sky and their second album, Pathway. Even a stoner bimbo could smell that coming — if not on the basis of their fancy new record deal, then for their awesome 2013 debut album. And at a distance, that debut seems like it’s only scratching the surface, a message conveyed even by its own cover art: an image of a small, solitary person plummeting into huge blackness. The job of its follow-up (out in two weeks) is to shine a light into that huge blackness to reveal more of SOTS. So, again, it’s not a gutsy bet on Pathway to be awesome.

Still, we won’t decline any compliments on our power to see the obvious. And now that a second jam from Pathway is out — it’s called “Angel In Vines” and arrives with an artsy video — you’ll be feeling even more generous to us than when you heard the album’s first jam six weeks ago. But really most of the credit should probably go to SOTS. Crank it up!!

Secrets Of The Sky’s Pathway is out May 19 on Metal Blade. Order it here and here.
