Christian Group Issues “First Warning” Against France’s Hellfest, Does Not Seem to Understand Jesus’ Teachings

hellfest vandalizationThe Gospel According to Matthew famously tells us that Jesus Christ instructed his followers to “Do unto others what you would have them do to you.” But a Christian extremist organization decided to wipe their ass with that Gospel earlier this week when they when they vandalized the site of France’s upcoming Hellfest. Jesus’ words would suggest that they should throw their own music festival, populated by bands that metalheads will hate — e.g., Heavenfest headlined by Elevation Worship or whomever . But his group decided instead to destroy property and, most disturbingly, leave a verbal threat in graffiti.

A shitty Google translation reports that Ouest France reports that…

“The anti-Hellfest [group] tore a hundred plantations, even cutting arbes in two. Dozens of entries were tagged, type ‘Vade retro’ or ‘Saint-Michel save us.’  In addition, an inscription sounds like a threat: ‘J-47, the first warning.’”

In response, the fest’s organizers are filing an official complaint and setting up 24/7 security. It is my sincere hope that these idiots haven’t scared any festival-goers away; to paraphrase one of American politics’ most infamous schmucks, “If you don’t go to the festival, the terrorists win.” Nothing will piss this organization’s members off more than the festival going on without a hitch. Given the passion of metal fans and the fact that the festival has already been sold out for some time now, I think that’s exactly what will happen.
