Metal For Nepal: LA Show Will Benefit Nepalese Earthquake Victims

0

Metal for NepalMetalheads have always been fantastic at uniting behind a cause. There may be a bunch of wholly different people throughout our scene and we certainly don’t all get along, but when it comes to helping out our brethren we’re pretty damn good about putting those differences aside and banding together for a common cause.

The people of Nepal have had no easy time of things lately — or ever, really, but especially now in the wake of the massive earthquakes that’ve rolled through the region over the past month — so a group of metalheads in Los Angeles has put together a show to help raise funds for the Nepalese in need. The show is being presented by Revolver Magazine. Here’s a little blurb about it from their website:

Metal for Nepal is a humanitarian project formed to help raise funds for the victims and rural communities affected from the recent tragedies occurring in Nepal over the past month. Today, they have unveiled plans for a benefit concert to be held in Los Angeles. Sponsored by Revolver, the show will take place on June 13 at the Complex in Glendale, California, courtesy of Church of the 8th Day. Headlined by heavy metal outfit Kyng along with support from -(16)-, Thrown Into Exile, and Kaustik.

Kyng drummer Pepe Clark said, “The power of music never ceases to amaze and the metal community is no different! Metal for Nepal is an amazing effort to help others in need and we are honored to have been asked to participate.”

100% of the proceeds raised will be donated to the non-profit charity organization No Silence fro Nepal, featuring metal community members that are out in the trenches providing food and water, shelter and medication to the most remote villages where little to no help has yet been provided yet.

Tickets for the 21+ event will be made available at the door for $15 and will include a raffle ticket for prizes including items from Razor & Tie, Revolver Magazine, Monster Energy Drink, Nuclear Blast, Magic Bullet Records, Prosthetic Records, and more!

Please RSVP on the event page on Facebook.

The show is on Saturday, June 13th at Complex in Glendale and starts at 8pm. More details here.
