Metal Alliance Tour Officially Cancelled; Bands Continuing Tour with Branding

Deicide Metal Non-Alliance Tour AdmatEarlier this week, Entombed A.D. announced that they’d been “pulled off” of the this year’s Metal Alliance tour for reasons unclear to them; weirder still, the trek’s headliners, Deicide, released a new tour poster which didn’t feature any Metal Alliance branding.

Now a press release from Deicide’s label, Century Media, has made explicit what we’d already guessed:

Due to unforeseen financial issues, Continental Concerts and the ‘Metal Alliance Tour’ regret to announce that the 2015 ‘Metal Alliance Tour’ has been cancelled. However, the remaining dates will continue on as a DEICIDE headlining run, featuring special guests as support (ENTOMBED A.D. is not on the bill due to the aforementioned issues).”

So, it’s not entirely clear what happened here, but at least we know more than we did previously.

This was, if I’m not mistaken, the fourth annual Metal Alliance tour. Will the package return in 2016? Doesn’t seem likely, does it?

Here are the remaining dates on the not-the-Metal Alliance tour, which in addition to Deicide, still features Hate Eternal and Black Crown Initiate, and is therefore still worth attending (Lorna Shore are playing, too, but you don’t care about them):

June 11 – Las Vegas, NV @ LVCS
June 12 – Mesa, AZ @ Club Red
June 13 – El Paso, TX @ Mesa Music Hall
June 14 – Lubbock, TX @ Depot “O” Bar Live
June 15 – Austin, TX @ Empire Garage
June 16 – Dallas, TX @ Gas Monkey Live!
June 18 – New York, NY @ Gramercy Theater
June 19 – Baltimore, MD @ Ottobar
June 20 – Charlotte, NC @ Tremont Music Hall
