Windhand Hold “Two Urns,” One in Each [Wind]Hand

0

Windhand - Grief's Internal FlowerWindhand are kind of a big deal now, huh? It seems like just yesterday their publicist was bugging us to cover the debut full-length of a fledgling doom band from Richmond, VA — it was kinda just yesterday, though… 2012 — and now just three years later the band is set to release their third album and embark on a real headline tour in support of it, with all sorts of hype and buzz. Dayum… time flies!

“Two Urns” is the first song we’re hearing from forthcoming album Grief’s Internal Flower, and we’ve embedded a “radio edit” of that track below (we’re guessing the full version was deemed too long to be considered a “single”). And it’s a sweet song; you won’t get any surprises here — if stoner/doom isn’t your thing, turn elsewhere — but the riffs are big and creepy, the vocals are appropriately haunting, and the production is absolutely MASSIVE courtesy of the legendary Jack Endino (Nirvana, High On Fire, Soundgarden). Check it out below.

Grief’s Infernal Flower comes out on Relapse Records on September 18th. Pre-order: Physical | Digital.
