Bring Me the Horizon’s New Song is Happy, Crappy

0810-41 53Bring Me the Horizon have come a long way from “Tell Slater Not to Wash His Dick.” As Sergeant D. notes on Stuff You Will Hate, “Happy Song,” the British metalcore troupe’s new track, “sounds like Saliva meets Three Days Grace.” It also liberally borrows from Faith No More’s “Be Aggressive,” although I wouldn’t be shocked if the BMtH dudes thought they were liberally borrowing from Marilyn Manson’s “mOBSCENE.” Point being: their sound has really changed.

Funny enough, I like this much more than I’ve liked any Horizon songs in the past. Don’t get me wrong, I still think it’s objectively bad, but it got stuck in my head, which is more than I can say for any other BMtH tune I’ve ever heard.

“Happy Song” will be on Bring Me the Horizon’s new album, which Metal Underground says is “tentatively due later in the year.”
