book of opeth banner v2If you’re reading MetalSucks, that means you can read. This being the case, you may like to know that Opeth will celebrate their 25th anniversary with a coffee table book, cleverly entitled Book of Opeth. According to the the website of the Book of Opeth:

“This sumptuously illustrated oral history presents Opeth’s unique tale, from their earliest days until the present, and all in glorious dark colour. Told in the first-person by Mikael, the band, their friends, former members and collaborators including designer Travis Smith, it is illustrated throughout with hundreds of previously unseen and rare photos, artworks and memorabilia.

“Here, for the first time, is the true and complete story of Opeth, revealed in all its terrible and magnificent glory, and illuminated by early, personal, candid, live and studio photographs.”

If you go to the aforementioned website, you can see a bunch of photos/samples of the book, and it does look like something any diehard Opeth fan is gonna want. There are two editions of the book, one for £40.oo (about $62) and a limited edition extra-super-special one for £250 (about $388). Either way, it also comes with new acoustic renditions of “Atonement” and “Demon of the Fall.”  But I wish there was also a paperback or digital cheapie edition. I mean, I’m not gonna be able to fit this thing in my pocket and read it on the subway. I dunno, maybe I’m just biased by the fact that I don’t currently own a coffee table. Maybe I just have coffee table envy.

But I digress.
