Downy Pool’s “Laundry” Is The Latest Metal Sock Puppet Parody

The guys over at Sock Puppet Parodies have definitely found a solid niche with the metal crowd. They’ve lampooned Slayer, Immortal, Slipknot, and Metallica, and now they’re taking their laundry-based metal humor in a nu direction with a spin on Drowning Pool’s “Bodies”, featuring Downy Pool’s “Laundry.”

Overall, the song is pretty funny–the moment a sock yells “SHOE!” gets me every time–but I feel like this time around the lyrics are reaching a little far. I think sticking to straight laundry gags is the way to go; the whole tripping-with-laundry thing feels a little specific (this is my life, where I write sentences like that). Plus, the guys misspell “descent”, and I’m the kind of prick who’s a stickler about those sorts of things.

Anyway, all nit-picking aside, still good for a Friday morning laugh. Check out the video below. I wonder what the next parody will be. Cashmere Corpse? High On Dryer? We’ll have to wait and see.
