Euroblast 2015 CynicAre you a huge Cynic fan who wants to make sure you get to see the band one last time just in case they do break up for really real? Better book yourself a flight to Germany for the Euroblast Festival, where Cynic will be performing their only gig through the rest of the year.

This after the band allegedly broke up, which it turned out was just the action of drummer Sean Reinert while guitarist Paul Masvidal knew nothing of it. To hear Sean’s side of the story listen to his appearance on a special edition of The MetalSucks Podcast. We’re still awaiting Paul’s version of things.

Matt Lynch will be filling in on drums for the Euroblast appearance. The festival runs for three days in early October in Cologne, and also features Between the Buried and Me, Monuments, Haken, Leprous, Trepalium, Aliases and a crap-load more bands.

Here’s an official statement from Cynic:

The remaining members of Cynic will headline Euroblast on October 3rd as scheduled. Many thanks to the fans, promoters, agents and others, working on behalf of the band to make this show happen. It is the only show that was salvageable from Cynic’s European tour, cancelled without the band’s consensus by a single member last week.

Masvidal’s other project, Onward with Love, have had to drop off the Euroblast billing. But, ya know… at least we get Cynic!

Lynch is best known for his work in the jazz-fusion project Trioscapes with BTBAM bassist Dan Briggs and saxophonist Walter Fancourt. Here’s a play through video of him tearing through a Trioscapes song:
