Rage Against the Machine Bassist Tim Commerford: “I Do Apologize for Limp Bizkit”

tim commerford inspired limp bizkitI’ve never really thought it was right to blame trendsetters for all the horrible knock-offs that came after them. That being said, I also understand why a scientist who accidentally created a WMD while searching for a cure for cancer would feel compelled to apologize for their error.

To that end, Rage Against the Machine’s Tim Commerford recently said this to Rolling Stone:

“I do apologize for Limp Bizkit, I really do. I feel really bad that we inspired such bullshit. They’re gone, though. That’s the beautiful thing. There’s only one left, and that’s Rage, and as far as I’m concerned, we’re the only one that matters.”

Unfortunately, Commerford is mistaken about Limp Bizkit being gone. But apologizing for unintentionally inspiring that most heinous waste of hearing is such a menschy move, I kinda don’t think anyone should tell him that. Let him go on in living in a Bizkit-free world. Ignorance is bliss, isn’t it?
