The horror of Friday’s terrorist attacks in Paris is still echoing throughout the world. Given the shock of this terrible tragedy, it is understandable that bands are canceling shows in Paris and around Europe in general, both in fear for their safety and out of respect for those killed or hurt in the attacks.

Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who was hurt or who lost a loved one.

Finally, Deftones have canceled their European tour, including a three-day residency at Le Bataclan. The band has issued the following statement:

“Hello all- Much has been said, as well as seen, on every media outlet about the events in Paris. Some of us were in attendance at the Le Bataclan, and the rest of our family, just blocks away on this night. We have been to Paris many, many times, and we’ve had some of the most amazing shows in this tremendously electric city.

With this being said, and with our deepest condolences, love and respect to everyone affected, and to all of us who share this planet, we must return home to our loved ones. We will return when appropriate.

For ticket holders, we will have more information soon, so please hang tight.
Until then, please never forget the power of gathering, and one of the most unbelievable feelings of all: that P.M.A.

With much love and respect, Deftones“

Update: Every Time I Die have also canceled all of their overseas shows in the foreseeable future. The band said the following:

“In light of current world events we have decided to postpone some of our upcoming shows in order to be with our families back at home. If you had planned to come see us, we are incredibly sorry for disappointing you. Londoners, the tickets you have purchased for this week will be honored on the new dates so please hold onto them, though refunds will be available if you cannot make it.
