Watch Iron & Wine Cover GWAR’s “Sick of You”

0

Antarctic scumdogs GWAR have a long history with The Onion’s AV Club Undercover series, having covered Billy Ocean, Kansas, and Cyndi Lauper. This time around, though, GWAR are the ones getting the cover treatment by none other than Jim Beam, better known as acoustic rock act Iron & Wine.

Beam covers the Gwar classic “Sick of You,” and obviously his version is… well, very different from the original. It does let you hear the brilliance of Oderus’ lyrics in soft, lilting tones. But sadly, it’s just not music to rape dinosaurs or punt babies to. You can’t blame the guy for trying, though. Maybe if he changed the name to “Semen & Steel,” we could talk.

Watch Iron & Wine’s cover below. Make sure to watch all the way through for a very special ending.
