Children of Bodom Will Continue Their European Tour Without Lamb of God
Last night was a disappointing one for Tilburg fans of Lamb of God and Children of Bodom (and support act Sylosis): the bands cancelled that evening’s performance just before the venue opened its doors due to security concerns resulting from last week’s terrorist attacks in Paris (some of the worst of which, in case you somehow have not heard, took place during an Eagles of Death Metal show).
Well, bad news: Lamb of God have decided to go home altogether, canceling all their appearances on the remainder of the tour:
Although I’m sure some fans will be pissy about this, it’s worth noting that LoG are just one of many bands that have cancelled European treks as a result of the attacks, including the Foo Fighters and Deftones. So their decision is not unreasonable.
There is a silver lining, however (so long as you don’t live in Germany at least): both Children of Bodom and Sylosis are going to continue the tour. Says Bodom:
“Lamb of God have chosen to leave the tour due to security concerns in Europe. Our team has been working very hard to make all of the remaining shows happen.
“We want to continue on the road and play the rest of the tour.
“Unfortunately the promoter has decided to move forward and cancel tonight’s show in Oberhausen, Germany, and the additional shows in Germany.”
Although I’m sure there will still be plenty of concertgoers who feel let down by the absence of Lamb of God, Children of Bodom and Sylosis is still a killer line-up, and I’m sure LoG will be back as soon as possible.
So, in the meantime, the remaining Bodom/Sylosis dates are below. The bands are looking to add more, too, so stay tuned if you don’t see your town on the list.
