Tonight: Livestream Devin Townsend Writing and Recording a New Song from Scratch in Just Two Hours

0

Toontrack has been celebrating Metal Month all November by releasing a slew of new recording tools just for metalheads: the new Progressive Foundry drum library (for Superior Drummer 2 and EZdrummer 2) and the Metal Guitar Gods 3 tone pack for EZmix2 (featuring tones dialed in by Adam D. of Killswitch Engage, Ola Englund of The Haunted, Keith Merrow of Conquering Dystopia and solo instrumentalist Andy James) have been unleashed so far, with more on the way.

But the coolest Metal Month feature yet should be tons of fun for all fans of metal, not just musicians and recording engineers: tonight, November 19th, Devin Townsend will be livestreaming a two-hour session in which he’ll write and record a brand new song entirely from scratch! Devin’s always been a big fan of Toontrack products (check this demo video he did for EZdrummer 2) and he’ll surely be leaning on them heavily for this session.

But wait! There’s more!

Devin will be taking a short break from his creative whirlwind to answer questions sent in through social media throughout the broadcast. Now’s your chance to directly ask Devin how he dials in his guitar tone… or what kind of toilet paper he prefers.

The livestream begins tonight at 5pm PST / 8pm EST / 2am CET. Tune in right here.
