Disturbed’s* cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence”** is unsurprisingly unpleasant… but the video for Disturbed’s cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence” is surprisingly beautiful***! Okay, sure, there are way too many shots of David Draiman looking all David Draimany****, but the rest of it looks like a R.E.M. video from back when there were still budgets for these things.

Watch Disturbed’s “The Sound of Silence” below.*****

*Isn’t it really a David Draiman solo cover? The other members of the band barely seem involved and are largely absent from the video.
**Yes, it’s a cover! I’m assuming if you like Disturbed, this is news to you, because if you’ve heard Simon & Garfunkel than you’ve heard real music, and therefore cannot possibly appreciate Disturbed.
***So long as you listen to it on mute.
****That is to say, he looks constipated.
*****Or don’t. I mean, it’s not so pretty that you’d regret skipping it.
