Holy Grail to Head Out on Tour With Black Tusk For Two Months This Winter/Spring

0

2016 is shaping up to be a busy year for trad-metal shredders Holy Grail: they’ll be on tour opening for Marty Friedman in February, they have a new album coming out that same month (Times of Pride and Peril, February 12th via Prosthetic Records), and now they’ve announced another tour with Black Tusk that picks up right after the one with Friedman ends and runs for almost two entire months. Yeesh!

Holy Grail’s 2010 debut album Crisis in Utopia totally bowled me over; I still rock it to this day. I didn’t connect as much with its followup, Ride the Void, so I’m hoping Times of Pride and Peril will bring back some of the breakneck swagger of the first record. We’ll find out soon enough, as I’m sure Prosthetic will be releasing some music from the new album very, very shortly.

No matter what, though, I’ll ALWAYS be stoked to see Holy Grail live — dudes flat out rip, and they bring an unstoppable energy to any stage they grace. Black Tusk are a good touring partner for them, too — a completely different type of band. You headbang fast to one band, then you headbang slow to the next. Pound a bunch of whiskey, get rowdy, go outside and smoke a doob between sets, get mellow. The perfect night, if you ask me.
