Megadeth - Dystopia

If you told me that the title track from Megadeth’s Dystopia was a leftover song from the Youthanasia sessions, I would believe you. I don’t mean that as an insult; there are some good songs on Youthanasia, and this track has some cool stuff in it (mostly courtesy of new guitarist Kiko Loureiro, who shreds like a cheese grater). But it has that same kinda early/mid 90s, still chasing The Black Album feel to it. It’s not as poppy as anything from Super Collider or Risk, but it’s not as heavy as anything from Rust in Peace or Countdown to Extinction.

Do you dig it? Listen to “Dystopia” below and find out! The album drops January 22. The band kicks off a tour with Suicidal Tendencies, Children of Bodom, and Havok in February; get dates here.
