What if Andrea Bocelli fronted a folk metal band? This is the question answered by Skuggsjá, the new project from Enslaved’s Ivar Bjørnson and Wardruna’s Einar Selvik. The duo first came together in 2014 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Constitution of Norway’s signing, and you can totally feel the energy of a centuries-old event in their music. Their debut, A Piece for Mind and Mirror, is poised to be 2016’s best metal album about Norwegian history.

No Clean Singing has now premiered a track from Mirror, entitled “Vitkispá” (which, coincidentally, is a Yiddish word for taint: “Oy, it’s so humid, I’m shvitzing outta my vitkipá over here!”). You can check it out below. A Piece for Mind and Mirror comes out March 11, and features guest appearances from most of the other guys from Enslaved and Wardruna.
