Lacuna Coil Parts Ways with Guitarist

In 2014, Lacuna Coil parted ways with guitarist Cris “Pizza” Migliore; they opted not to replace him, instead just having their other guitarist, Marco “Maus” Biazzi play all the parts himself.

But now Biazzi has flown the coop, too! The band made the announcement via The Book of Faces:

This, of course, means that the band will either have to get a new guitar player, or otherwise just play to a backing track. If I were them, I’d choose the latter option, because we all know everyone is there to see Cristina Scabbia, and $X/4 > $X/5.

I’m kidding… but I do wonder if this will have any real impact on the band or not. I have no idea what the songwriting dynamic is like in Lacuna Coil, so… I dunno, maybe one of you LC superfans can lets me know.

I also wonder if this is an indication that Lacuna Coil’s success is dwindling. They’ve lost three of their six members in two years (remember that drummer Cristiano ‘CriZ’ Mozzati left at the same time as Migliore). Something is clearly amiss, and when people start leaving a band that something tends to be money… right?
