Is ex-Morbid Angel Singer David Vincent a Country Singer Now?

0

With David Vincent officially out of Morbid Angel (again), Satan only knows what the future holds for the frontman and bassist.

But could Vincent’s next calling be as a country singer? It seems possible!

In the following video filmed on January 9th in Austin, TX, Vincent is shown performing a song he wrote called “Buyer Beware” with a full band. That’s a damn convincing country croon he’s got going there, not to mention the genre-appropriate hat and beard. It’s a simple enough blues/country tune, but it’s catchy as hell.

Who knows — with so many of our heros continuing to perform long past when it seems appropriate (for example, see Randy Blythe’s recent comments: “you will not see a 60-year-old Randy hopping around and screaming ‘Walk With Me in Hell.’ Fuck that.”), perhaps this is the type of graceful exit from a legendary legacy that more metal musicians should be pursuing. And for what it’s worth, I can TOTALLY see it: Vincent has always been such a ham on stage, and that persona plays perfectly into country.

Watch the performance below. That’s Danny B. Harvey of The 69 Eyes and The Head Cat (the rockabilly supergroup with Lemmy and drummer Slim Jim Phantom of The Stray Cats) on guitar.
