Wormed Gaze Out at the “Pseudo-Horizon”

Wormed - Krighsu

Madrid’s self-proclaimed “sci-fi tech death metal” masters, Wormed, have a new album called Krighsu coming out in a couple of months. Apparently, “Krighsu” is the name of a character in their ongoing conceptual epic, but I gotta be honest: I do not care. I can’t tell what the fuck vocalist Phlegeton is screaming so I am not at all invested in Krighsu’s multi-album journey. Phlegeton could be going on and on about how much he loves to have his dog lick peanut butter from his cock and I wouldn’t know the difference. And I’m not sure I’d care even if I did know the difference — I give zero fucks about whatever Coheed and Cambria are going on about, and I can comprehend Claudio Sanchez perfectly (is “Hang onto the glory at my right hand” a masturbation joke or what?).

All that being said: I do care about “Pseudo Horizon,” the first song to be released from Krighsu! Maybe Phlegeton is screaming about quantum wormholes and inverted multi-vectorial reionizations and groups called “The Chrym” and “The Terrax,” and maybe he’s singing about how he needs to remember to buy more toilet paper on the way home from work… but either way, the song is terrifically bludgeoning. I’d hardly be surprised if jamming it gave listeners a concussion. This is the kind of song for which the term “extreme music” was invented.

Check out”Pseudo Horizon” below! Krighsu comes out March 18 on Season of Mist. Pre-order it here.
