Earlier this month, we were excited to announce that Intronaut was heading out on tour and taking The Ocean (Collective) with them. But while Intronaut will still be hitting the road, and playing their entire new album live, it sadly won’t be with The Ocean. The band has been forced to drop off the tour.

Intronaut released the following statement:

“Would you guys like the good news or bad news first?

The bad news is that our friends The Ocean Collective have been forced to cancel their involvement in our upcoming tour due to not getting work visas secured in time. It appears that they are the latest to fall victim to a process that sometimes takes as long as it feels like.

The really, really, good news is that our brothers Scale the Summit have stepped in to replace them! STS released a killer record a few months ago and have yet to tour behind it, so the timing is great, and this is a show you can’t miss!”

On the one hand, this is a huge bummer, as we’re big fans of The Ocean, and can think of no better band to open for Intronaut; plus, it’s always annoying when a great band has to cancel shows for something as silly as visa issues. On the other hand, Scale The Summit do kick ass at what they do. Our own Kip Wingerschmidt gave their latest a whopping 4.5 stars.

Anyway, our condolences out to The Ocean, who will hopefully get over to the US soon. In the meantime, catch Intronaut, Scale The Summit, and North at one of the following dates.
