Nick Hipa on Billy on the Street: Watch the Wovenwar Guitarist Play “Nicolas Cage Character or Rapper?” for Comedy Show

According to Metal Insider, “If you haven’t seen the TV show Billy on the Street yet… well, it’s worth watching.” I haven’t seen the TV show Billy on the Street yet, so I’ll let MI’s Zach Shaw explain why it’s worth watching:

“It’s basically just comedian Billy Eichner running around the streets yelling obscure questions at random people in exchange for a dollar.”

Okay! I don’t know who Billy Eichner is (did his great grand-parents murder my great grand-parents?), but assuming he’s a talented lad, that sounds fun.

Wait, why the hell are we talking about this? Ah, yes: one segment on the show recently featured guitarist Nick Hipa (Wovenwar, ex-As I Lay Dying) and his finaceé, Mariah, playing a game in which they had to differentiate between the names of rappers and the names of characters Nicolas Cage has played in movies.  To Nick and Mariah’s credit, they’re totally game and playfully competitive, and they remain good natured even as Eichner “humorously” screams in their faces (and, at one point, shoves Nick). But anyone who has ever met Nick will tell you that he’s a serious contender for The Nicest Dude in Metal Award, so that’s not surprising. I’d like to see Eichner try and pull this shit with Danzig. Ouch.
