Avatar: Still a Thing
Avatar, the Swedish band that is inexplicably obsessed with the circus, are releasing a new album, which will be called Feathers & Flesh. The cover art for that album certainly suggests that the band has a sense of humor; this will be a great alternate look for days when you’re Three Mountain Wolves shirt is in the laundry:
Unfortunately, there isn’t any humor to be found in the album’s first single, “For the Swarm.” The video actually has some cool visuals in it, which is a shame, because the song is insanely irritating: it’s catchy, but in a bad way, like a fly buzzing in your ear that won’t just fuck off already, or a genital itch you can’t scratch because you’re in a public place. I mean, the singer spends half the song pretending he’s Serj Tankian and the other half of the song impersonating a barking dog, for Christ’s fucking sake.
You can check out “For the Swarm” below, if you dare. Feathers & Flesh comes out May 13 on eOne/Another Century.
