Dino Cazares Receives Racist Backlash for Insulting Donald Drumpf
Guys, I need you to brace yourselves. I’m about to reveal one of metal’s best-kept secrets, something that will shake the scene to its core. Dino Cazares, of Fear Factory, Divine Heresey, Brujeria, and Asesino? Dude is Mexican. I know.
Which might explain why Cazares had less than supportive words for presidential frontrunner and poorly-washed Nixon costume Donald Drumpf in a recent interview with Australian outfit Sticks for Stones:
“…we have a kook running for president, Donald Drumpf. If Donald Drumpf actually gets elected I’m moving to Australia. If he’s elected president we are going to have a lot of issues in America.
“Who knows what going to happen? He doesn’t like Muslims, he doesn’t like Mexicans, and he doesn’t like the foreigners. It’s just going to cause a war, it’s going to cause a lot of tension between Americans and other parts of the country.”
Huh! Now what could incite such fierce anti-Drumpf sentiments in Cazares? I wonder…
Oh, right.
What’s absolutely bonkers is that since Cazares’ Australian interview, he has apparently received racist responses on social media, according to an interview with I Probably Hate Your Band:
“I was extremely surprised at how many racist comments I was reading because I’m of Mexican descent. You know, I’m an American, I was born in the United States, I pay taxes just like everybody else and a lot of people were saying, ‘Leave, Donald Drumpf is gonna build a wall so your people won’t come into America.’ A lot of people were saying, ‘Get the f— out of here, beaner.’
“Racism really seems to be coming out of the woodwork now, and you have people like Donald Drumpf who are provoking that. I’m not saying that he is saying it straight up, but he is, pretty much, provoking it.”
First of all, it blows my mind that anyone would be surprised that Cazares isn’t a fan of a politician who describes immigrants from a country in his heritage as rapists. Did you think that just because the dude eats babies, he’s a conservative?
Second, as Cazares said, he’s from California. So if you’re hating on him for being anti-Drumpf, you’re not against illegal immigration, you’re against Mexican Americans. You’re a bigot. End of story.
Anyway, we invite Dino to return to the MetalSucks podcast and rip on Donald Drumpf all he likes. We’re more than happy to hear him (anyone else, really!) shit all over a hateful plastic shitbag who sexually assaults his own wife. See, Dino? I’m getting the ball rolling.
