Video: KSE Take Over NYC

Last week, Killswitch Engage engaged their killswitch for five consecutive nights here in Noo Yawk, each at a different venue smaller in capacity than the ones the band would usually play. The occasion? The release of their new album, Incarnate, on Roadrunner this past Friday. In fact, each performance featured the debut of a different song from Incarnate. The night Vince and I saw them, at Brooklyn’s much-beloved Saint Vitus, the new track was “Embrace the Journey… Upraised,” a heavy song which somehow sounds even heavier live. It was the most fun I’ve had at a KSE show since The End of Heartache days, and I’ve had a lotta fun at a lotta KSE shows over the years.

The band has now commemorated the week’s festivities with the below video recap, so you can live vicariously through those of us who were lucky enough to be there. It should also put you in the mood to see Killswitch live. Lucky for you, their North American tour begins tonight. Get dates here.

You should also make sure that you check out our own Brian Storm’s recent video interview with KsE frontman Jesse Leach! Topics includ Leach’s approach to writing lyrics, what it’s been like being back in the band these past 3-4 years, and even news on the status of Times of Grace, Leach’s side-project with KsE guitarist Adam D.
