Puddle of Mudd’s Wes Scantlin Arrested After Police Standoff

0

Only days after his breakdown in Doncaster during which his whole band quit onstage, Puddle of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin was involved in a standoff with LAPD yesterday that ended with his arrest.

According to TMZ, Scantlin was reportedly burglarizing a car in the driveway of his LA home when police were called. When they arrived, Scantlin ran into his house and refused to come out. After repeatedly asking him to come out, the cops called in 30 officers with guns drawn and kicked in the back door.

Scantlin was then taken from his house and arrested–not for burglarizing the car, which he was apparently trying to jump start with a couple of friends, but instead for an outstanding warrant.

TMZ posted the following photos of the incident, including a final one in which Scantlin seems rather pleased with himself about it:

Given Scantlin’s recent unhinged behavior, this is somewhat to be expected. Why he refused to come out of his house when the cops arrived, and why the police felt the need to call in 30 officers armed to the teeth to bring in one reedy nu-metal singer, remains a mystery. There are no reports of Scantlin brandishing weapons or threatening anyone with violence.

More as this case unfolds further.
