Who the heck is in Poison Headache, the metallic hardcore trio that has just been signed by Metal Blade??? Noisey, who debuted PH’s song “Sin Eater” today, says that the group features “a dude from a bonafide Big Band.” Obviously, their promo photo (above) is no help identifying the Mystery Musician, unless you have a special talent for recognizing people based on their silhouette.

We may not yet know the identity of this noteworthy entity, but we do know this: regardless of who he is, his new band rules. The press release announcing their signing classifies Poison Headache as “One part Entombed Wolverine Blues, one part Motörhead Ace of Spades, and one part Converge Jane Doe,” and that’s pretty damned accurate. If you dig insanely well-written corrosive hardcore with a knife-sharp metal edge to it — and who amongst us doesn’t? — you’re gonna dig Poison Headache.

Give yourself a Poison Headache by streaming “Sin Eater” below. The band’s eponymous debut was Taylor Young (Nails, Twitching Tongues) and mastered by Brad Boatright (Black Breath, Inverloch, Sleep); we’ll have more details on that release for you soon. ‘Til then…
