This New Defeated Sanity Track Is Pretty Killer

0

It’s been three years since Defeated Sanity released Passages Into Deformity, but now the German tech-death band are back with a new album… or albums?

The band is releasing two EPs at once, Disposal of the Dead/Dharmata, which, as Metal Underground puts it, means that the band is sort of releasing a split with itself. This isn’t necessarily a revolutionary idea–plenty of bands have released double albums with different themes and atmospheres explored on each album–but it’s not exactly typical either.

Regardless, the band’s new track, “At One With Wrath,” is awesome. It’s got that killer latter-day Schuldiner sound to it, never using the guitar to overwhelm the other instruments in the song, and tossing some prog in there every so often to give the track more texture. Fans of the more introspective and seasick side of tech-death will enjoy it.

Listen to “At One With Wrath” below. Disposal of the Dead/Dharmata drops July 22nd via Willowtip. You can pre-order it here.
