Vhöl Stream New Track as Part of Adult Swim’s “Singles 2016” Program

While Adult Swim may refuse to bring Metalocalypse back for reasons no one seems to understand, the cable network has maintained a solid footing in the metal world with its Singles program, which has brought us a slew of great tracks from notable metal bands over the past few years: Sleep, Pig Destroyer, Deafheaven, Mastodon and Myrkur, to name a few.

That tradition is set to continue in 2016, with their relaunched Singles program offering 25 tracks in 25 weeks starting last week and a metal band already on the docket in week two. This week’s track comes from Vhöl, the supergroup featuring Mike Scheidt of Yob, John Cobbett and Sigrid Sheie of Hammers of Misfortune, and ex-Agalloch drummer Aesop Dekker, with a straight up thrasher of a ditty called “Dispatch.” The song’s got an unstoppable energy to it; inspired by its name, I’m imagining a retro music video following the plot of a duo of mustachioed policeman dispatched to look into something seemingly nefarious but ultimately harmless.

Stream “Dispatch” at the Adult Swim Singles website, and stay tuned for new tunes each week: hopefully they’ve got some more metal in store, but even if not, it’s a great way to discover new music.
