The Dillinger Escape Plan Announces Special Intimate North American Tour

Today’s word I didn’t know until an extreme music act introduced it to me: ‘limerent.’ Fuck’s it mean? Says Wikipedia:

“Limerence (also infatuated love) is a state of mind which results from a romantic attraction to another person and typically includes obsessive thoughts and fantasies and a desire to form or maintain a relationship with the object of love and have one’s feelings reciprocated.”

Neat-o!

This vocabulary lesson was brought to me by The Dillinger Escape Plan, a band for whom I myself feel limerence (did I use that correctly?). They’ve just announced the ‘Limerent Death’ tour, set to take place this August.

(The name of the tour, by the way, strongly suggests that the new DEP record will be called Limerent Death, which is a nice thematic companion to One of Us is the Killer… although I still kinda wish it were called Lime Death.)

The brief trek will be hitting venues smaller than those the band normally plays; if you’ve ever been lucky enough to see them play such an intimate venue, you’re already aware of fucking amazing those shows are… and if you haven’t, well, take the insanity of DEP playing a larger room and then amplify it accordingly.
