Killswitch Engage’s Jesse Leach Calls “Deep Rooted Inequality” in the World “Despicable”

Killswitch Engage vocalist Jesse Leach is the latest metal musician to weigh in on the current political unrest in both the U.S. and abroad. Leach, unlike Machine Head’s Robb Flynn or Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, doesn’t directly address the controversy surrounding the #BlackLivesMatter movement or the silly #AllLivesMatter counter-movement (in fact, he specifically says he finds hashtags reductive!), the cause of his editorial is not much of a mystery.

Leach is known for being just about the nicest person ever, so, unsurprisingly, he advises readers to cease with their petty squabbles and unite against the real enemy… namely, The Man (for lack of a better term). In a weird way, this is a much more even-handed version of what Varg Vikernes, of all people, said a few weeks ago: the way the system works now, whomever wins, we all lose (to varying degrees, natch).
