Reflections Announce They Are Done Touring, Imply Indefinite Hiatus

NOOOOOOOOOO. Minnesota progressive outfit Reflections announced via Facebook on Tuesday that they will no longer be touring, suggesting that the band will be on indefinite hiatus. You can see the post below:

So yeah, this definitely sucks a big one.

Since I first saw Reflections open for After The Burial back in 2012 they have easily become one of my favorite bands… not just recently, but of all time. They were the rare band that over the course of their three albums were not just consistently good, but got better and better with each release. Their most recent record, The Color Clear, was #3 in my top 10 albums of 2015 and I never got a chance to see them on that tour cycle because good shows never come to the Midwest. Ever.

Fortunately the words “we have already started writing a lot of new music and for the first time since we released a record, we’re going to take as much time as we need to write it,” seem to imply that there will be another Reflections album sometime in the future. However, if bands like System of a Down and Necrophagist have taught us anything, it’s that if you plan on waiting for music with no specific release date, you’d better be ready to wait a while. Hopefully it doesn’t come to that because losing Reflections is a tragedy for metal as far as I’m concerned. If you can make it to their farewell show on September 30, I truly envy you.

Let us know when you’re back, Reflections. You will always have us even when we don’t have you.
