Fifty Seconds of New In Flames Music Actually Sounds Decent

Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, and In Flames announced a UK tour today. And although we don’t normally write about UK tour announcements, this UK tour announcement arrived with a video previewing new music from In Flames. And, quite surprisingly given the quality of their last few albums, said new music preview actually sounds promising! Listen to this riff and just try to tell me it’s not immediately better than anything on A Sense of Siren Charms Fading or whatever:

See! Maybe that’s not quite a Clayman level of awesomeness, but it’s at least a Come Clarity level of awesomeness, which, at this point, would be minor miracle. We still don’t know when the album will be out, or how indicative this sample will be of the whole record… but wouldn’t it be neat if In Flames made something cool again?

Twenty minutes ago, I never would have thought I’d be even cautiously optimistic about the quality of a new In Flames album. Life is just full of marvels.
