“Hellionaires”: Trap Them Invest Their Hell Wisely

Never forget, extreme music devotees, that before Nails and All Pigs Must Die, there was Trap Them, true masters of unconscionably angry blackened hardcore (or is it pessimist deatthrash?). They were the first of the modern wave of bands who mixed thrash, punk, black metal, and doom to create music that sounded exactly like that split on the bridge of a beaten man’s nose.

Last we heard from the Seattle throatstompers, they were fucking bliss so hard it couldn’t walk straight for a week. But misanthropes may now rejoice, as the band has released a new track, “Hellionaires,” via Revolver, and it’s everything you want from Trap Them — surging, furious, slightly melodic but not too melodic, brimming with blood and poison. If the track is any indication, the band’s upcoming new album is going to be just killer.

Listen to “Hellionaires” below. Trap Them’s latest, Crown Feral, drops September 23rd on Prosthetic. Pre-order it on their Bandcamp page.
