Watch an Hour Long Documentary About the Making of Periphery III: Select Difficulty

There are few vicarious experiences I find as fun as long “making of” videos. When I was a young whippersnapper, I think I watched the first part of A Year and a Half in the Life of Metallica — a.k.a. “The Part Where They Make The Black Album” — so many times I wore out the VHS tape (don’t worry, I have since upgraded to a DVD). Chimaira (R.I.P.) made multiple great ones about almost all of their albums. I even seem to recall enjoying the one Atreyu did for A Death Grip on Yesterday, and I don’t even like Atreyu.

So you can imagine how tickled I was to see that Periphery have released a nearly-hour-long documentary about the creation of their latest offering, Periphery III: Select Difficulty (out now on Sumerian). This is the absolute closest most of us will ever get to being a fly on the wall for the band’s creative process… so I can’t imagine my fellow Periphery admirers will find it anything less than thrilling. Enjoy:
