Not Blood Paint Get Sacred and Profane In “I Am An Angel” Video

0

If you haven’t heard Not Blood Paint’s Believing Is Believing, you should go listen to it right now. It’s a hybrid of stoner metal, indie rock, and nicotine-stained lounge music that channels all the ills of the world without ever leaving its chaise lounge.

One of the strongest tracks on the record is “I Am An Angel,” for which the band has made a music video, and man! When I saw the band had made a video for this track I was scared it was going to be someone in leather pants pretending to be a sex devil, but it’s so much better than that. “I Am an Angel” is an eerie black and white slideshow of the subconscious’ understanding of good and evil, reminiscent of Kenneth Anger’s ability to speak of spiritual matters though secular imagery, David Lynch’s tendency towards injecting uncommon occultist atmosphere into familiar scenarios, and David Cronenberg’s love of pulsing flesh and oily vomit.

Watch “I Am an Angel” below. Believing Is Believing can be ordered from Not Blood Paint’s Bandcamp.
