Ion Dissonance! Youon dissonance!! Weallon dissonance!!!

Ahem. Sorry. Had to get it out of my system.

Moving on:

Montreal quintet Ion Dissonance, like their fellow deathcore progenitors The Red Chord and Despised Icon, have been more or less absent from the scene for some time: it’s been two years since we last heard any new music from them, and a whopping six since the band released their last album, Cursed. And now, like Despised Icon*, the band has finally returned with a new label and a new album — in Ion Dissonance’s case, the label being Good Fight, and the album being Cast the First Stone, which will be released on November 18.

And while there are no pre-orders for Stone yet, there is a debut single: “Treading on Thin Ice,” which you can check out below. It’s… dissonant (see what I did there?).

But wait! There’s more! The band has announced a small handful of tour dates for October and November. The November ones will also feature Fit for an Autopsy, who are rad, Great American Ghost, who are also rad, Of Feather and Bone, who I’m not too familiar with, but are also probably pretty rad if they’re on this bill. Dates are below! Hopefully the band will get to tour more extensively in 2017.

Oct 8 – Sherbrooke, QC @ Bar Le Magog
Oct 22 – Austin, TX @ Empire Control Room – Texas Revolution Fest w/ Hatebreed, Devildriver
Oct 29 – Ottawa, ON @ Mavericks
Nov 18 – Providence, RI @ The Colosseum – w/ Fit For an Autopsy, Great American Ghost, Of Feather and Bone
Nov 19 – New York, NY @ Gramercy Theatre – w/ Fit For an Autopsy, Great American Ghost, Of Feather and Bone
Nov 20 – Albany, NY @ The Fuze Box – w/ Fit For an Autopsy, Great American Ghost, Of Feather and Bone

*The fact that Ion Dissonance and Despised Icon are both Québécois is, surely, a coincidence. Still, if anyone could figure out a way to get the dudes from The Red Chord to relocate to Montreal…
