Meet the Hottest Local Band in All of Saskatoon

Saskatoon’s Maelstrom Vale say that their song “Doomed Traveler” is “about the struggle with depression.” So their video for the song makes perfect sense: if you can watch this and not laugh, you are truly beyond help. I began to do a Virgin Steele-style breakdown of everything ridiculous about the clip, but I quickly realized the friggin’ thing would be the length of Infinite Jest. There is something to savor in every single frame. There’s also a fun mystery to solve: why the fuck is the singer standing in a massive wet spot?
