Exclusive Track Premiere: Last Hours, “The Enemy Within”

0

While you’re probably not familiar with Last Hours (yet), you’re likely familiar with at least a couple of their members: drummer Phil SanGiacomo and bassist Kurt Applegate played together in the original lineup of Brooklyn prog/rock/metal outfit Family. You’re also most certainly acquainted with Candiria guitarist John LaMacchia, who lends a guest solo to “The Enemy Within,” which we’re premiering today on MetalSucks.

There are parallels to be drawn between all of the above-mentioned bands: influences ranging from grunge to metal to prog, the perfect mix of aggression and melody, plenty of atmosphere, kicking grooves… you get the point. Last Hours are in fantastic company. But their’s is a particularly darker brand of music; there’s something especially sinister lurking just beneath the surface here that’s tough to put a finger on, but we really, really like.

Check out “The Enemy Within” below Last Hours’ self-titled debut EP comes out on October 4th. Pre-order and listen to another track called “Awaken” at Bandcamp.
