Late Night Host Seth Meyers Offers Update on the New Tool Album

With Chinese Democracy and Worship Music out in the world and Necrophagist having broken up, Tool’s seemingly-forever-in-the-works new album has now leapt to the top of “What the Fuck is Taking Them So Long?!?!” list. Consequently, anytime anyone says the words “tool,” “new,” and “album” in one sentence, I’m contractually obligated to cover it, no matter how silly. That’s how I ended up writing an article about Home Depot’s album of new tools for Winter 2016.

Today’s silliness I’m obligated to report: Tool drummer Danny Carey is sitting in with the 8G Band on Late Night with Seth Meyers this week. And while introducing Carey last night, Meyers provided viewers with new intel regarding the Tool record’s release date. Specifically, he said this:

“Be sure to look out for a new Tool album coming sometime soon.”

“Sometime soon!” WOW! What insight! I think I just felt the earth move.

You can watch this incredible, breathtaking clip below. A child conceived while his parents were listening to 10,000 Days when it was first released can now walk and talk and read and wipe his own ass and be basically recognizable as a person. Will the band release something before that kid gets to high school? We shall see…
