Here’s Footage of Randy Blythe Fronting Eyehategod

Last month, we posted about how Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe would be filling in for Eyehategod vocalist Mike Williams while Williams dealt with some health issues. Now, The PRP has posted some fan-shot footage of the band with Blythe at their Portland and Santa Ana shows. Check it out below.

For all intents and purposes, Blythe does a fine job filling in for Williams, and, like Phil Anselmo before him, is obviously happy to be filling in on vocal duties for such a killer band. However, as much as I love Randy, he’s just too energetic and full-throated for Eyehategod. The beauty of Mike Williams is that he’s like some sort of mischief god who’s out of work, lurching around the stage with a lurid grin and barking lyrics as though he was being punched in the stomach. This ain’t death metal, Blythe!
