Hello MetalSucks reader! Welcome to Shit That Comes Out Today, your Satanic bible of this week’s heavy new releases. We list ‘em, we spotlight ‘em, we link you to their preview jams and full streams all for your jammage. Now crank this shit up!

·

incarcerationIncarceration
Catharsis (FDA Rekotz)
On a playlist with: early Death, early Sepultura, early The Crown
Listen “Obsessed By Death” (here) “Evoking The Possession” (here) “Infernal Suffering” and “Chaos And Blasphemy” (here)

Hello MetalSucks reader, how the heck are you! Are you pleased by the first few days of the new NBA season? I tell ya, I’ve sure missed Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder. That guy always looks like he’s about to run though a wall. Even tough players might shy away from him or risk an innocent shoulder-blast to the chin. Or much worse, he’s so physical and solid, he never seems to tire, none of his actions are anything less than total engagement. As such, I feel like Westbrook fans are inclined to comprehend Incarceration, a death metal band so insane that other intense death metal bands are like, “Phew. Don’t you guys get tired?”

·

principality of hell Principality Of Hell
Sulfur & Bane (Osmose)
On a playlist with: Venom, Bonehunter, early Suicidal Tendencies
Listen “Blasphemer” (here)

It’s normal for mean stuff to be unspeakable, ie. words that you may be tempted to write cuz you’re angry, but ultimately refrain because shit talk is corny. But sometimes good things are kinda unspeakable too. Like, in an interview with the hellish principals of Principality Of Hell, I would hesitate to point out Sulfur & Bane‘s sensitive and humanly mournful moments amid the cacaophony. A crew of frothing screamers doesn’t want to hear that shit! Ha actually, who am I kidding, of course I’d bring that up right away. I have zero tact.

·

death-fetishistDeath Fetishist
Clandestine Sacrament (Debemur Morti)
On a playlist with: Aevangelist, Pyramids, Hate Eternal
Listen “Astral Darkness” and “Voidtripper” (here)

So at this point in today’s STCOT, you might be thinking, “Anso my friend I’m not in the mood for insane metal (above), I’m ready for some normal heaviness here in the third slot.” If so, sorry brah. This is Death Fetishist, led by the main weirdo from Aevangelist, powered by Panzergod’s drummer, and joined for guest turns by members of Gnaw Their Tongues, Misthyrming, and Pyrrhon. Constant chaos. It’s like three records playing at once, two on broken stereos.

·

Testament - Brotherhood of the SnakeTestament
The Brotherhood Of The Snake (Nuclear Blast)
On a playlist with: Kreator, Exodus, Flotsam & Jetsam
Listen “The Brotherhood Of The Snake” (here) “Stronghold” (here)

Of Testament’s first era, the richest album is Practice What You Preach. Likewise the third album of Testament’s third era — the one that, gloriously, matches original lead guitar genius Alex Skolnick with the extreme metal of their sporadic second phase — is populated by varied, revelatory songs of different shades and shadows. Skolnick is thrilling almost to the point of disbelief, as dazzling with guitar solo (start with “Black Jack”) as he is with solo guitar (“Seven Seas,” an profoundly inventive composition anyway). But Brotherhood‘s MVP might not Skolnick or even riff god Eric Peterson (love youuuu), just like a night when Testament’s Bay Area NBA team isn’t headlined by Steph Curry or Klay Thompson — but by Draymond Green’s rugged, balls-kicking badass. That’s Chuck Billy across Brotherhood. Awesome!!

·

towerTower
Tower (The End)
On a playlist with: The Oath, Jucifer’s Calling All Cars On The Vegas Strip, Death Penalty
Listen Tower full stream (here)

This week would qualify as a win if the only snappy (and surprising) hard rock album was Solas by The Answer (below). But here’s Tower and their debut album that makes you wish for the power to phone Ronnie James Dio to see if he’s encountered it yet (then James Hetfield, Jake E. Lee). Makes you pray that this vibe takes over active rock radio. Makes you blow your voice out singing along. Potal towerhouse.

·

kryptsKrypts
Remnants Of Expansion (Dark Descent)
On a playlist with: Lantern, Beyond, Spire
Listen Remnants Of Expansion full stream (here)

Did you know about Krypts’ 2013 debut album? I didn’t. Titled Unending Degradation, it is discussed in reverent tones, which means its new successor Remnants Of Expansion is now being discussed in relative terms. Again, Remnants is my first Krypts album (I think), so there’s no comparison (at this point) but it’s tough to imagine a better Krypts album than Remnants.
