Nightwish’s Floor Jansen Says Slayer are “Dreadful,” “Terrible,” and “Unbelievably Boring”

Slayer fans are known to be somewhat, urm, passionate. These are, after all, the people who carve the band’s name into their flesh, boo opening bands off stage, and get horrible lower back tattoos. They often eat, breathe, and live Slayer, 24/7. Or, as Rob Zombie once put it:

So it might be an understatement to say that Nightwish’s Floor Jansen has balls the size of Dave Lombardo’s drum kit for giving this quote to Metal Hammer:

“Some would say Slayer [are the most metal metal band], but I think they’re a dreadful band. Unbelievably boring. Terrible. Apparently it’s not metal to say that, but it’s a personal opinion.”

Well, it’s a good thing she clarified that that’s a personal opinion. I’m sure Slayer fans will react in a manner that is perfectly reasonable. Jansen is absolutely not going to have to drive around in a bullet-proof Pope Mobile from now on. Backlash? Slayer fans don’t even know the meaning of the word!
