Great news: Trent Reznor is not a meanie!

Just days after continuing to tease the release of new Nine Inch Nails music in 2016,  Reznor has announced that the project will release a new EP, Not the Actual Events, on December 23… just one week from today! As was the case with NIN’s last surprise release, Ghosts I–IVEvents will be an independent release sold via the NIN website.

Unsurprisingly, Reznor has also announced that his frequent collaborator, Atticus Ross, is “now [an] official bandmate” — meaning a member of Nine Inch Nails.

As if all that wasn’t enough, Pitchfork reports that Reznor is working on “definitive editions of all the major NIN releases on vinyl.” Reissues of The Downward Spiral and Broken are already available for pre-order, as is what sounds like the mack daddy of this new vinyl series:

“Reznor is also releasing a limited edition 4xLP vinyl version of the 1999 NIN album ‘The Fragile,’ containing 37 bonus tracks. ‘The Fragile: Deviations 1‘ will be available on LP only, not digitally.”

Jeezy creezy.

So, there ya go. New Nine Inch Nails coming in a week. AND we still get Reznor and Ross’ score for the upcoming movie Patriots Day. It’s an embarrassment of depressive riches!
