Devin Townsend Announces Orchestral Ocean Machine Anniversary Performance

Time to book a flight to Bulgaria.

This July will mark the twentieth anniversary of the release of Devin Townsend’s Ocean Machine, sometimes called Ocean Machine: Biomech, once called Biomech by Ocean Machine. Given Townsend’s penchant for putting on very special one-off performances, you might wonder if he had anything planned for this occasion.

He does: on September 22, at the Ancient Theatre in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, Townsend will “do a by-request set, with a symphony, and with a choir, as well as, for the first time ever, the entire Ocean Machine record.”

So that’ll probably be pretty neat. Hopefully, Townsend either live casts and/or films the concert for a home video release so that those of us who can’t attend can still enjoy the show. He’s done that in the past, so I don’t think it’s too far-fetched or anything.

ANYWAY, you watch Townsend announcing the show in the below video.
