Video: The Dio Hologram “Performs” at the Pollstar Awards

I keep reading articles where people refer to the Ronnie James Dio hologram as though it were, if not Ronnie himself, then at least a real person. Which is dumb. Who knows what crazy shit scientists will develop in the future, but for now, at least, holograms are not people. I can’t believe that even needs to be made clear, but such are the times in which we live.

So: in advance of an upcoming tour centered around the gimmick, the hologram made its U.S. debut last night “performing” at the Pollstar Awards in Los Angeles. You can watch video below. I think the clip really highlights what a shit idea this hologram is — the three-dimensional video of a dead guy is the most energetic performer on stage. Shit is ridiculous. Save it for Disneyworld, not an actual fucking metal concert.
