WSOU Picks of the Week: Lo-Pan, Mastodon

0

Seton Hall University’s WSOU radio is the only all-metal, all-the-time station currently broadcasting in the US, and as been a force in metal for DECADES. It’s also streamable online from anywhere in the world! Each week, the staff of WSOU shares their picks for the heaviest of the heavy, as well as the station’s charts for that week, right here on MetalSucks. Enjoy:

Lo-Pan – “Go West” (Nick D.)

Named after an evil character in the 1980s cult movie Big Trouble in Little China, these stoners’ new EP is cleverly titled In Tensions. Giant grooves sway throughout with vocalist Jeff Martin’s sweet voice serenading us over upbeat crunchy riffs. Check it out! Here’s “Go West.”

Mastodon – “Show Yourself” (Grant P.)

Mastodon just dropped their second single off of their new album! “Show Yourself” is lighter than first single “Sultan’s Curse,” but it shows the potential range of what the album has in store. This track has me really excited and the catchy chorus has been stuck in my head since I first heard it. Emperor of Sand is out March 31st through Warner Bros. Records.
