Here in the northeast, where The MetalSucks Mansion is located, we are currently getting our asses handed to us by Winter Storm Stella. That means an awful lot of us are snowed in and in dire need of entertainment, and more than a few of us are probably baked.

Which makes today perfect for psychedelic stoner doom album called Abominable from a band called Telekinetic Yeti.

This magnificently bearded duo, Alex Baumann (guitar/vocals)  and Anthony Dreyer (drums), is from Dubuque, IA. So they probably know a little something about staving off boredom via the use of metal and weed. That helps explain, at least in part, why Abominable is such a shining addition to the stoner doom subgenre. Its nimble, trippy contents have the loose, free feel of a hippy tripping balls, the tireless charge of a rhino on coke, and the light fuzz of an adolescent boy’s upper lip.

You’re gonna love it.

Check out Abominable below! It comes out this Friday, March 17, with Sump Pump handling the LP and the band self-distributing the CD. Pre-order the album on vinyl here, on CD here, and/or digital here. The band also has a string of live dates coming up this month and next. Get those at the bottom of this post!
