“Further from myself we go, further through the sky” guitarist/vocalist Josh Breckenridge announces during With Our Arms to the Sun‘s “Memory: The Drift.” As you might assume from this lyric, the song is metal’s soundtrack to an out-of-body experience. The scope of the music is appropriately epic, blending spacey post-rock with melodic alt-metal and conceptual prog to create something fresh. Its DNA contains clear strands of Pelican, This Will Destroy You, Faith No More, and The Who. It’s not schizophrenic, though; all of these influences (and others) cohere into a thrilling adventure of a song. Further through the sky we go indeed!

MetalSucks is proud to present “Memory: The Drift,” which you can stream via the below video (complete with rolling clouds!). The song will appear on With Our Arms to the Sun’s new album, Orenda, which comes out April 21, and was produced by the band along with some dude named Buzz Osborne. Pre-order the album here!!!
